AUTOMATION-->COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS

Common Topics:

Serial Communication:

Serial communication is a communication method that uses one or two transmission lines to send and receive data, and that data is continuously sent and received one bit at a time.

Parallel Communication:

parallel communication is a communication method,in which in data transmission, parallel communication is a method of conveying multiple binary digits (bits) simultaneously.

Synchronous Transmission:

A Transmission method that uses synchronized clocks to ensure both the sender and receiver are synchronized to transmit data. And they sends blocks or frames of data.

Asynchronous Transmission:

A Transmission methos that send data using flow control rather than using a synchronous clock to transmit data between the source and the destination. And this will sends one Byte or character.

Transmission modes:

There are 3 types of transmission modes which are given below: Simplex mode, Half duplex mode, and Full duplex mode.

Simplex mode:

In simplex mode, Sender can send the data but that sender can’t receive the data. It is a unidirectional communication.
Example of simplex mode are: Keyboard and monitor.

Half-duplex mode:

In half duplex mode, Sender can send the data and also can receive the data but one at a time. It is two-way directional communication but one at a time.
Example of half duplex mode is: Walkie-Talkies.

Full duplex mode:

In full duplex mode, Sender can send the data and also can receive the data simultaneously. It is two-way directional communication simultaneously.
Example of full duplex mode is: Telephone.
